Rome has the cheapest typical hour in the table, €405, and Florence the cheapest typical two hours, €720. Milan and Lake Como share the dearest typical hour, €460, and Venice has the dearest two hours, €835. Across all package lengths, though, Milan's typical package is €2,065, the highest of the six, because more than half of what is listed there is half-day and full-day wedding and elopement coverage.

What moves the price
Edited photos, more than minutes. An hour in Italy costs anything from €345 to €635, and what separates the two ends is mostly how many edited photos come back and the work behind them. Compare packages by the number delivered, not by the clock.
The occasion. Weddings and elopements are quoted by the day: a full day runs from €1,150 to €4,970, typically €2,760 with about 400 edited photos. A small elopement — ceremony, portraits, a walk — often fits a half day, from €855, typically €1,140. A proposal rarely needs more than an hour: the photographer stays out of sight until the question, and the next half hour becomes a couples shoot.
The region, less than you might think. Between the six cities the typical hour moves only from €405 in Rome to €460 in Milan and on Lake Como; booking two hours instead of one changes the bill far more.
Season and sunrise. A package costs the same in August as in February, at six in the morning as at eight in the evening. The season changes availability instead: from May to September the sunrise and sunset slots go first, and sunrise is the only hour when the Trevi Fountain, St Mark's Square or the beach at Positano are close to empty. Off-season, acqua alta can rearrange a Venetian morning between October and January, and many hotels on the Amalfi Coast and Lake Como close for the winter.
Travel between places. The cost nobody prints in Italy is the road. A session inside one historic centre stays on foot. The Val d'Orcia is well over an hour and a half from Florence each way, Positano to Amalfi is short on the map and long on an August afternoon, Lake Como runs on the ferry timetable, and Burano is about forty minutes from Venice by vaporetto. Two towns in one shoot usually means a half day. Boats, gondolas, water taxis, entry tickets and venue fees go to whoever sells them; no package includes them.
Group size. Prices are per session, not per person. From nine people up, most packages and Quick Booking cost 50% more.
