Where the shoot happens
- Trastevere at dawn. Ivy, ochre walls and cobbles, empty until the cafés put their tables out. The lanes hold soft shade long after sunrise.
- The Aventine. The keyhole in the Knights of Malta gate frames St Peter's dome; the queue grows through the day and at weekends, so go early. Next door, the Orange Garden terrace looks across the Tiber to the dome — best in the hour before sunset.
- The Pincio terrace. Above Piazza del Popolo, facing west over the rooftops to St Peter's: Rome's sunset balcony, busy but wide.
