Three sample budgets
A one-hour couples shoot at sunrise. St Mark's and the waterfront at half past six in summer: €345 at the cheapest, €450 typical with 49 edited photos, or €319 through Quick Booking.
A two-hour family session. Dorsoduro in the late afternoon, along the wide Zattere promenade where children have room: from €575, typically €805 with around 100 edited photos. For a shorter outing, the 90-minute packages cost €460 or €575.
A proposal. The Accademia bridge at sunset, with the dome of the Salute catching the last light: one hour from €345, typically €450. If the question comes on a gondola, the boat is a separate booking with the gondolier; the photographer can work from a bridge or the bank.
Where the shoot happens
- St Mark's at 6:30. In summer the piazza is nearly empty at half past six, and the Piazzetta opens onto the lagoon with San Giorgio Maggiore across the water. By nine it belongs to the crowds.
- Dorsoduro. The Accademia bridge looks down the Grand Canal to the Salute, warm at sunset; the Zattere faces south over the Giudecca canal, with sun most of the day and the sunset at its western end; the gondola yard at San Trovaso is a few minutes away.
- Burano. Painted houses along narrow canals, about forty minutes by vaporetto from Fondamente Nove. The colour is strongest in soft light, early or late; it is a lived-in island, so keep doorways clear.
- Quiet canals. Away from the Rialto–San Marco line, Cannaregio and Castello have fondamenta with washing lines, moored boats and almost no one, at any hour.
