They use telephoto lenses so they can shoot from 15-30 meters away without being noticed. Italy enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year in many regions, but your photographer will always have a backup plan ready. They'll prepare 2-3 alternative covered or indoor locations that are equally beautiful — such as frescoed courtyards, historic arcades, covered terraces, or botanical garden pavilions. Your photographer will check the weather forecast 48 hours and again 24 hours before the session and proactively reach out with recommendations. If conditions are truly unfavorable (heavy rain, strong wind), free rescheduling is available at no extra cost. Late spring and early autumn, in the late afternoon, when the castle and the Sicilian coast turn gold and Chianalea's lanes fall into shade. In July and August the village is busy, so morning sessions in Chianalea are quieter. The castle keeps its own opening hours — check before you go. Reggio Calabria airport is about half an hour away.
