About Langhe, Barolo & the Piedmont wine hills
The Langhe is the run of steep hills south of Alba where Nebbiolo becomes Barolo and Barbaresco, and the vineyards are planted in tight parallel rows that turn every slope into ribbed texture. Barolo itself is a small village under a squat castle, ringed by the crus that carry its name.
