I’m Dario, an Italian wedding photographer based in Turin, in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. I have been photographing weddings professionally since 2010, working throughout Italy and internationally. My background is in Modern and Contemporary Literature, and perhaps because of that, I have always approached photography as a way of telling stories rather than simply recording events. A wedding, to me, is a narrative made of hundreds of small moments: gestures, glances, unexpected encounters, laughter, tears, and all the things that happen between the moments everyone already knows are important. My approach is documentary at its heart, but not distant. I pay close attention to what is happening around me, anticipating moments when I can, stepping in when my experience can genuinely help, and otherwise allowing the day to unfold naturally. I want my couples to feel that they are living their wedding rather than performing it for a camera. After more than fifteen years and hundreds of weddings, I have learned that being a wedding photographer is about much more than taking good photographs. It means understanding people, reading a room, knowing when to disappear and when to take control, and being able to deal calmly with whatever the day decides to throw at you. My work has been recognised by Fearless Photographers and the Italian Association of Wedding Photographers (ANFM), where I have been a Selected member since 2011. I have also received the Matrimonio.com Wedding Award for four consecutive years, from 2022 to 2025. Alongside my work as a photographer, I have taught for Nikon School and work as an ImagenAI Ambassador, exploring new approaches to workflow and post-production. I have also attended numerous editions of Way Up North, one of Europe's leading conferences for wedding photographers, continually studying and exchanging ideas with photographers from around the world. Although I am based in Turin, I regularly photograph weddings across Italy and am available for destination weddings abroad. For me, the best photographs happen when people stop thinking about the photographer. That is when the real story begins.
