After booking, you'll have a detailed planning call or message exchange with your photographer where you'll share your vision, preferred location, and timing. Your photographer will scout the exact spot in advance, identify the best angles and lighting positions, and plan their cover story — often posing as a tourist photographing the scenery. On the day, they'll be in position 15-20 minutes early with a telephoto lens to capture every moment from your approach to the ring reveal to your partner's genuine reaction. They'll dress casually and position themselves to look like a tourist, a local enjoying the view, or a casual street photographer — common sights at Italy's popular viewpoints and landmarks. They use telephoto lenses so they can shoot from 15-30 meters away without being noticed. Your photographer will send you their photo beforehand so you can recognize them and avoid accidentally drawing attention. After the proposal, you can surprise your partner with the news that everything was captured, or keep it a secret and reveal the photos later. Italy enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year in many regions, but your photographer will always have a backup plan ready. They'll prepare 2-3 alternative covered or indoor locations that are equally beautiful — such as frescoed courtyards, historic arcades, covered terraces, or botanical garden pavilions. Your photographer will check the weather forecast 48 hours and again 24 hours before the session and proactively reach out with recommendations. If conditions are truly unfavorable (heavy rain, strong wind), free rescheduling is available at no extra cost. Photoshoots on the Salento coast start from €319, with one- and two-hour packages running roughly €319 to €450 depending on the length and the number of edited photos. Distances decide the shape: Otranto and the sea stacks north of it fit comfortably in one hour, while pairing the Adriatic side with Gallipoli means the best part of an hour in the car between them.
