The Trevi Fountain at dawn, the Aventine keyhole and the nearby Giardino degli Aranci, Trastevere's ochre lanes, the Colosseum and Via dei Fori Imperiali, the Spanish Steps, and Ponte Sant'Angelo with St. Peter's dome in the background. Your photographer will string the spots into a route that makes sense on foot.

Dawn. The Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are nearly empty at first light and packed by mid-morning. Golden hour is beautiful on the Aventine Hill and along the Tiber, and in summer an early start also beats the heat — August is the busiest month at the icons.

Absolutely — Rome is one of Europe's favourite proposal cities. A dawn proposal at a rooftop terrace, the Giardino degli Aranci or the Pincio Terrace gives you soft light and almost no bystanders; your photographer arrives early and stays discreet until the moment. For typical small sessions in public areas no permit is usually needed — local photographers know the rules.

Totally normal — and our photographers expect it. The trick is not to ask kids to pose at all. Instead, they observe and react: a kid running toward a balloon, lost in a piece of cake, holding a parent's hand, looking out at the sea. The best birthday photos are unposed. We pair you with photographers who have years of kid experience: they bring small toys, ask silly questions, and let the child set the pace. Most shy kids warm up within 15 minutes. Bring a comfort object (favorite stuffed animal, snack) — works wonders.
