Prima la domanda vera: pubblico o privato?
A Roma i luoghi da proposta si dividono in due famiglie, e la scelta va fatta prima di tutto il resto. I punti panoramici — il Pincio, il Gianicolo — regalano la scenografia più grande della città, ma al tramonto non sarete mai soli: la sorpresa avviene davanti a un pubblico che applaude. I posti raccolti — un angolo del Giardino degli Aranci, un vicolo di Trastevere, il cortile di un palazzo — proteggono l'intimità, al prezzo di una vista meno monumentale. Nessuna delle due è sbagliata: dipende da come reagisce il vostro partner all'attenzione degli sconosciuti.

I posti che funzionano
Terrazza del Pincio. Il classico, per una ragione: il sole cala esattamente dietro San Pietro, e la terrazza è larga abbastanza perché un fotografo lavori da trenta metri senza farsi notare. Arrivate 40 minuti prima del tramonto, quando la luce è dorata ma la folla non ha ancora raggiunto il picco. Il punto migliore non è la balaustra centrale ma l'angolo sud, verso Casina Valadier.
Giardino degli Aranci, sull'Aventino. La scelta di chi vuole quiete. Il belvedere guarda l'ansa del Tevere con la cupola in lontananza, il giardino è piccolo, e nei giorni feriali a fine mattinata capita di averlo quasi vuoto. Attenzione all'orario: i cancelli chiudono al tramonto con orario stagionale, e nei weekend di primavera ci si sposa nella sala comunale accanto — con relativi invitati in giardino.
Trastevere, prima delle dieci. Piazza de' Renzi o il tratto di lungotevere all'altezza dell'Isola Tiberina. Non è la proposta con panorama: è quella con la città vera intorno, e la mattina presto i vicoli sono vostri. Funziona benissimo se dopo volete continuare con un servizio di coppia camminando.
Ponte Sant'Angelo, all'alba. Gli angeli del Bernini, Castel Sant'Angelo alle spalle e — solo a quell'ora — nessuno in mezzo. All'alba il ponte è dei fotografi e di chi corre. Alle nove è dei venditori di braccialetti.
Il buco della serratura no. Il famoso buco dei Cavalieri di Malta è un'esperienza da fare in due, non un posto per la proposta: si guarda un occhio alla volta, la fila al tramonto è lunga, e non esiste inquadratura che tenga insieme voi e la cupola.
La logistica che salva la sorpresa
- Il fotografo si traveste da turista. Si apposta 15-20 minuti prima con un teleobiettivo, e vi manda la sua foto il giorno prima: voi lo riconoscete, il partner no.
- Un segnale concordato. Un gesto semplice — togliersi il cappello, indicare il panorama — dice al fotografo che il momento arriva ora.
- Piano B scritto. Roma ha 300 giorni di sole ma quando piove, piove sul serio. Un portico (San Pietro in Montorio, il pronao del Pantheon all'alba) va scelto prima, non improvvisato.
- L'anello viaggia addosso a voi, mai in un bagaglio, e la scatola fa rumore: molti la sostituiscono con un astuccio piatto da taschino.

We couldn't recommend Georgiana more as a wedding photographer! From our very first meeting, we knew she would be an absolute dream to work with. She took the time to meet us at our venue months before the wedding — even late in the evening when that was the only time we were available! She was so attentive and we instantly loved her laid-back, friendly approach. Our wedding included multiple ceremonies, including a traditional Asian ceremony, and it meant so much that Georgiana took the time to learn about each stage so she could capture all the important moments perfectly. On the wedding day itself, she was such a calming presence. When I was running behind getting into my dress, she even stepped in to help!
